Lokal is a hyperlocal content, community and classifieds platform. It serves non-English-speaking users in Tier 2+ India with district-level news, local jobs, real estate, matrimonial listings and commodity prices in regional languages. It earns revenue from small-business advertising and classifieds, and it has a recruitment/hiring portal. It raised a ₹120 Cr (~$15M) Series B in 2023 led by Global Brain and Sony Innovation Fund, bringing total funding to about ₹225 Cr (~$27M). Revenue grew from ₹2.46 Cr in FY21 to ₹8.4 Cr in FY22, and the app had 40M+ downloads as of 2023.
