Course Hero
Online learning platform selling subscriptions to course-specific study resources, AI-assisted homework help and tutoring to college and high-school students.
Course Hero runs an online study platform with over 60 million course-specific resources. Students and educators contribute them, and in-house content specialists also produce them. Students pay a subscription or earn "Unlocks" by uploading their own materials. It was founded in 2006 and raised a $380M Series C in December 2021 at a $3.6B valuation, with total funding of about $478M. It is now owned by Learneo, which it rebranded as in 2022 and which also holds QuillBot, CliffsNotes, LitCharts, Scribbr and Symbolab. In March 2026 a Connecticut jury awarded Post University about $75.4M against Learneo in a copyright case.
