Song Cage

Product

▲ 0

Song Cage is the songwriting tool for everything that happens before you hit record. Write in your browser, on Mac or Windows, or inside your DAW as an AU/VST3 plugin. Start anywhere: a chord progression, a melody, a line of lyrics. The rest follows. Experiment freely, learn music theory as you go, and get the song idea down before it fades. Over 2000 users in less than 6 months with nearly zero ad spend.

About

Steve Canfield is Head of Design at SaasRise and builds Song Cage on the side, a songwriting tool for capturing chords, melodies and lyrics in the browser, on desktop, or inside a DAW as a plugin. Steve previously worked at The Notus, building websites, business tools and automation, and co-leads the beginner track of SaasRise's AI coding bootcamp built around Claude Code. Song Cage uses rule-based music theory rather than generative AI for its suggestions.
