Michael Gold

I invest in and work with open-source Physical AI infrastructure companies building real systems as they move from prototype to production.

My focus is on embodied AI, simulation, and 3D system architecture, particularly where platforms, data pipelines, and infrastructure determine whether research can scale into deployable products. I work closely with founders on platform strategy, commercialization, and the transition from research to production.

I’m a Professor at the School of Visual Arts, where I teach AI-driven approaches to 3D workflows, automation, and code. Previously, I was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence leading NYU’s XR research lab in partnership with Bose, Meta, and NVIDIA, and earlier helped build the NYC tech ecosystem by organizing large-scale hackathons and events attended by over 30,000 founders, developers, and researchers.
