Typesafe AI raises $870M at $7.5B

The Series A was announced on October 9, 2026, with Sequoia Capital, existing investor DCVC and angel investors joining lead Andreessen Horowitz. a16z general partner Martin Casado takes a board seat. Jev entered early access on September 15 after two years in stealth. It is a non-text model that outputs probabilities, which TypeSafe calls "calibrated decisions." Input tokens cost $0.042 per million, and output tokens are free. The company was founded in 2024 by Diogo Almeida, a former OpenAI researcher, Sasha Sheng, a former Meta research engineer, and Erik Gafni. TypeSafe says Jev processes trillions of tokens daily and is already profitable, and that roughly a third of the Fortune 500 uses it. Outside parties have not checked any of these figures. The company also says its headline speed and cost multiples come from its own workflow evaluations and sit at the high end of real-world gains. For builders, the round shows investors paying LLM-scale prices for a narrow automation model with a team of fewer than 25 employees. If structured decisions can be bought at near-zero output cost, workflow startups built on general-purpose LLMs will face pressure on both price and latency.
