Google releases Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash with 15-second video generation
Google released Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash on November 5, making it generally available through the Gemini API and Gemini for business. The model creates native 15-second video clips with synchronized audio, and it supports conversational editing across several turns. Google also reported higher rate limits and lower pricing for developers.
The launch extends the Flash line, which Google positions as its faster and cheaper option, following the Gemini 4 Argon flagship and the 3.8 Flash release earlier in the fall. Video generation is a contested area, and OpenAI added GIF creation to its image tools this week.
For teams building creative or marketing products, a lower price per clip and API access make short-form video easier to fold into a product's unit economics. Test edit loops and subject consistency across several shots before committing to a production pipeline.
