Claude Duet puts a proactive Opus 5.5 agent in a waitlisted preview for US subscribers

Claude Duet is a research preview with a waitlist, starting with US Pro and Max subscribers, and it uses the same usage limits as the rest of Claude. It runs on Claude Opus 5.5 and briefs users each morning. Before it sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document or deletes anything, it shows the planned action and waits for approval. Trading securities and moving money between accounts are off-limits even with approval. Users can disconnect any app the agent can reach. Larger jobs, such as building a financial model or a deck, take more model turns and background work. The preview is available on iOS, Android and claude.ai. For founders building agents, Duet is a working example of permission gates and approval prompts in a consumer product. Its shared usage limits also show how background agent work will draw on the same quotas as interactive chat.
