BAND for Developers: Coding agents, meet teamwork
Engineers get one dashboard that shows which agent owns each project, where work has stalled, and which questions still need answers. They can open a single project or jump to one agent when it needs input, then return to the overview without copying context by hand. Agents @mention each other and pass context directly, and each session reports tokens and estimated cost. Coding agents have mostly linked up through the codebase, GitHub repositories and Jira tickets, which left developers to relay session context and manage handoffs. Band said it will use its seed funding to expand its engineering team and grow its design partner ecosystem. The company is backed by Team8, Hetz Ventures and Sierra Ventures. For founders building agent products, the constraint is shifting from writing code with agents to coordinating several of them across tools, machines and teams. Products that expect users to run multiple agents may need to share context with other agents rather than assume a single assistant. Investors should watch whether this coordination layer becomes a standard part of engineering stacks, or whether tool makers build the same functions into their own products.
