Harvey acquires Aida, an AI sales assistant startup, for undisclosed terms
Aida built an AI assistant for sales representatives, and Harvey is bringing its search and machine learning engineers into the legal platform. Harvey's announcement was published under the heading Aida Joins Harvey, and neither company has disclosed terms. Coverage of the transaction counts it as Harvey's fifth purchase this year.
Harvey's website references a $550M raise at a $15.5B valuation, although the page does not date that round. Aida was started by a Glean co-founder and targeted sales teams before the sale, so the deal moves its technology toward legal research and knowledge retrieval.
For founders, the deal shows that legal AI vendors are buying narrow assistants to strengthen core retrieval. Startups selling a single-function assistant may find that their strongest asset is the retrieval layer, which acquirers can fold into larger products.
