Freshworks acquires Robusta to add AI incident investigation to Freshservice
Software company Freshworks, which sells Freshservice, said on October 28, 2026 that it had acquired Robusta Dev Ltd., an Israel-based maker of AI incident investigation software. Neither side disclosed the price. Robusta co-founders Natan Yellin and Arik Alon, along with the wider team, are joining Freshworks. Robusta's AI agents go through monitoring data, infrastructure telemetry and recent code or configuration changes to pin down likely root causes and recommend remediation.
Freshworks intends to build the capability into Freshservice, its IT service management product, so investigations can draw on business service data, configuration management database dependencies and change histories. The company also plans to tie it to FireHydrant, the incident orchestration platform it agreed to acquire in December 2025. Findings are expected to surface in FireHydrant incident timelines and in Slack or Microsoft Teams, and post-incident lessons could feed change guardrails meant to stop repeat outages.
Freshworks says Robusta was built for large production estates with heavy alert volumes, where running AI investigation on every raw event would be too expensive in tokens. Human operators remain in control of any action that could affect live systems, according to the company. The announcement gives no integration timetable.
Why it matters
For founders, the purchase shows a public software vendor buying a narrow diagnostic agent instead of a broad platform. Robusta answers one operational question, what broke and why, and backs the answer with evidence drawn from telemetry and change logs. That kind of product can slot into an existing workflow, which makes it easier for a buyer to justify paying for it.
For investors, the undisclosed price means the announcement cannot show what the team was worth or how fast it grew. The clearer lesson is about demand: a company can sell to a strategic buyer on a tight scope and cost discipline, such as reducing the compute needed to investigate high alert volumes. Teams that build in a competitive AI operations category should be ready to explain their unit economics and integration path to acquirers.
