Its funders include Google.org (a $1.3M AI Impact Challenge grant in 2019), the Gates Foundation, the Overdeck Family Foundation and the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation. Its stated reach is over 11–12 million students since its 2014 launch and more than 3 billion sentences revised. It is based in New York City.
