Captions, now operated by the company Mirage after a September 2025 rebrand, sells a freemium, subscription-based AI video app for captioning, editing, dubbing and AI avatars. Its Mirage Studio product, launched in June 2025, serves brands and ad teams and costs about $399/month. The company raised a $60M Series C led by Index Ventures in July 2024 at a $500M valuation, bringing total funding to over $100M. In March 2026 it added $75M of growth financing from General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund. It reported 10M+ creators and 3M+ videos created per month in 2024, and it is building proprietary foundation models for short-form video.
