Viva Wallet

Viva.com runs a proprietary cloud-based payments platform. It offers omnichannel card acceptance (including Tap to Device on Android), business accounts with IBANs, card issuing, merchant cash advances and marketplace payment tools. It mainly serves small and midsize businesses and marketplaces across about 24 European markets. It earns money from payment processing and acquiring fees, plus banking and lending services. J.P. Morgan closed a 48.5% stake in December 2022 with a €100m cash injection, which made Viva Greece's first unicorn. Revenue was about €130M in 2021, up from €44M in 2020. The founders, Haris Karonis and Makis Antypas, held 51.5% at that point. Later reports describe a legal dispute between JPMorgan and the founders' holding company over valuation and control.
