AI and machine-learning company, owned by BioNTech, that sells decision-making AI systems and the DeepChain BioAI platform to enterprise, biotech and industrial customers.
InstaDeep builds enterprise decision-making AI using reinforcement learning and GPU-accelerated ML, with a growing BioAI focus (the DeepChain protein and DNA design platform). Customers are enterprises in logistics, electronic design, energy and pharma/biotech. Revenue comes from custom AI solutions, services and product licences, and now largely from work for its parent BioNTech. It was founded in Tunis in 2014 and raised about $107M before BioNTech agreed to acquire it in January 2023 for about £362M upfront. The deal closed in mid-2023, and it now operates from London with offices in Tunis, Paris, Berlin, Cape Town and elsewhere.
