About Art of Defence

Art of Defence GmbH, founded in 2005 in Regensburg, built hyperguard, a software-based distributed web application firewall. It was offered as SaaS, a software plug-in, and a virtual or hardware appliance. It protected web apps on-premise and in the cloud, and was available through the AWS partner program. It sold only through OEM/technology and reseller partners to financial services, eCommerce, telecom and public-sector customers. Bayern Kapital and KfW were investors. PitchBook records an acquisition by Zeus Technology on 9 June 2011. It is not an AI company: it was a web security firm, and the sources list it as acquired or acqui-hired.
