What it does

Sets up a new Remotion project from scratch, handling Node.js and Git prerequisites while intelligently detecting folder state. Skips scaffolding if a project already exists, and carefully manages hidden files to avoid conflicts. Reach for this when starting any new video composition work with Remotion.

  • Scaffolds new Remotion projects with create-video, respecting existing .env and .git files
  • Detects and cleans only disposable OS metadata (.DS_Store) from target folders
