Fasset raises $68M Series C
SBI Group led the round at a $1 billion valuation, and it was already an investor. It first backed Fasset in May and made a further investment this time, though the Japanese financial group did not disclose the size of its latest investment. The round follows a $51 million Series B, which puts total funding raised in 2026 at $119 million. Speedinvest joined the cap table in the Series B.
The company says the proceeds will go toward scaling Own Network, its regulated financial network that connects banks, telecommunications firms, and payment and liquidity providers. It also cites more than $40 billion in annualised transaction volume, more than 3 million wallets across 125 countries and over 1,000 enterprise customers. Those figures are self-reported. One report says part of the capital is earmarked for agentic AI systems for corridor banking, stablecoin settlement and tokenised-asset infrastructure.
For AI founders, the deal shows investors paying for AI that sits on top of licensed financial infrastructure. Fasset's pitch is that AI routes transactions across currencies and payment rails, and that the licences and bank connections are what make that routing usable. A strategic lead like SBI also brings distribution into Japan, which a software-only competitor would have a hard time matching. Founders in regulated sectors can read it as a sign that compliance work can count toward a valuation.
