BoomerangHR raises $12.7M Seed
Kalos Ventures and Album Ventures led the round. Monta Vista Capital, Atlanta Seed, Capital 11 and Strada Education Foundation also participated. The company came out of stealth with the announcement. CEO Jeff Wald previously founded Spinback, acquired by Salesforce, and Work Market, acquired by ADP. Warby Parker is named as an early customer. The software connects to existing HRMS and ATS systems and, after initial setup, automates exit compliance, COBRA administration, 401(k) rollovers, equipment returns and exit interviews. It also keeps an alumni network of verified profiles and matches former employees to open roles. The target is companies of 300 to 25,000 employees. The company cites a 62% drop in time-to-hire for boomerang candidates. Those figures come from the company and a podcast interview, not an independent source. The pitch leans on a hiring-fraud argument. Gartner projects one in four candidate profiles will be fake by 2028 because of generative AI. A former employee's verified history sidesteps that problem. For AI founders, the case is a vertical product built on proprietary first-party data: employment records the customer already holds. It does not rely on model novelty. Selling into HR means plugging into incumbent HRMS and ATS systems, so integration speed is part of the product.
