Wrtn Technologies raises $72.2M Series C
Coreline Ventures and Eugene Asset Management came in as new investors. Goodwater Capital, Antler Global, Woori Venture Partners and Korea Development Bank also took part. The round valued Wrtn at more than 1 trillion won ($722 million), and total fundraising is now about 230 billion won. Bloomberg's conversion of a 1.2 trillion won valuation put it at $870 million. The growth driver is OOC, an AI entertainment platform aimed at North America. It reached 10 billion won in monthly revenue within three months of its May launch. Wrtn expects this year's revenue to top 200 billion won, against 47.1 billion won last year. Overseas sales now exceed domestic sales. Wrtn has also said it is tightening safeguards for teenage users of its Crack service. Next is a listing. Wrtn has asked major domestic securities firms for underwriter proposals, aims to pick one this month, and plans the IPO for after next year. For founders, the round shows that investors will pay unicorn-level valuations for consumer AI with fast overseas revenue, especially companion and entertainment products. It also shows the regulatory cost of that model. Youth protection is already a funded workstream at Wrtn, and teams in the category should budget for it early.
