WINT raises $36M Series D
LIP Ventures and Inven Capital co-led the round, and the company did not disclose a valuation. The money is earmarked for product development and wider reach among building owners, contractors, insurers and facility operators. Wint reports that in 2025 its system helped customers save 1.15 billion gallons of water. It also reports roughly $100 million in avoided damage across more than 1,300 incidents. One secondary source puts the customer base at nearly 600 enterprises, but that figure was not in the company's own release. The product pairs connected meters, valves and control units with models trained on flow data from building mains, hot water, HVAC loops and cooling towers. It can alert operators and close valves automatically. Control units can make shutoff decisions locally without a cloud connection, which matters for hospitals and data centers. The round follows a December 2025 strategic investment from property owner Grosvenor, which committed to deploying the technology across its real estate portfolio. For AI founders, Wint is an example of a vertical model company that sells a measurable loss prevented, backed by an insurer-facing warranty, instead of a software seat. Hardware that acts on its own, with edge decisions and quantified claims, gives a buyer an easy ROI case and an insurer a reason to engage.
