Oakley Capital takes majority stake in Graphwise, an enterprise AI data platform
Oakley Capital acquired a majority stake in Graphwise, a company formed in 2024 through the merger of Ontotext and Semantic Web Company. The companies called it one of the largest exits in the Bulgarian software industry, but did not disclose financial terms. Graphwise sells enterprise knowledge and semantic data tooling, and its earlier investors ran a buy-and-build strategy that produced the merger.
Ontotext was founded in Sofia in 2000 and Semantic Web Company in Vienna in 2004. Coverage of the transaction cites ARR growth above 30% a year, but no absolute revenue figure was published in the reports reviewed.
For AI founders, the deal shows that mature knowledge graph and semantic businesses still draw control buyers when growth is steady rather than explosive. Teams building enterprise AI on structured data should watch how buyers price retrieval and knowledge infrastructure alongside model-first startups.
