Magentic raises $18M Series A
Felicis led the round, with Sequoia Capital and The Westly Group returning from the seed. Total funding now stands at $23.5 million. The company launched in July 2025 with a $5.5 million seed. Valuation was not disclosed. The company was founded by CEO Robin Van Aeken, a former McKinsey consultant, and CTO Odhran O'Donoghue, an OpenAI alumnus. It is based in London and New York. Magentic sells AI "digital workers" to large manufacturers. The agents work through tools employees already use, including email and Microsoft Teams. They cover supplier selection, contract negotiation, order management and invoice processing. By the company's own account, one customer runs more than a million orders a year through the agents, and another found $4 million in savings. It cites typical savings of 2–5% and customers that include three of the ten largest beverage companies. These figures are company claims, not independently verified. For founders building agents for enterprise back-office work, the round shows investors will fund vertical products tied to a measurable cost line such as procurement spend. Magentic also leans on enterprise security terms, including zero-data-retention agreements with AI providers. Buyers in industrial sectors are likely to expect the same.
