ImpriMed raises $10M Series A
LB Investment led the round. NAVER D2SF, Samsung Securities and Alois Ventures joined as new investors, and existing backers BonAngels and Han River Partners followed on. It is structured as a bridge round after the $23 million Series A of 2023, so Crunchbase's "Series A" label understates that this is the second tranche of the A. Valuation was not disclosed. The money is meant for U.S. commercialization and expansion into Asian and other international markets. One data aggregator reports a target of FDA clearance and CLIA certification by early 2027, though that does not appear in the company's own release. ImpriMed's core product is the xCellSense platform, which keeps patient cancer cells viable outside the body for extended periods. Test results are analyzed with genomic, immunophenotypic and clinical data using multimodal AI, with models trained on more than 3.5 million data points. The company has a commercial veterinary oncology business, which it uses to inform its move into human healthcare. For AI founders, the round shows a familiar route in regulated sectors: build revenue and proprietary data in a lower-stakes market, then carry the models into human medicine. Korean strategic and financial backers also signal where the Asian expansion capital is coming from. Proprietary biological data, not model architecture, is the asset being financed.
