GenHealth.ai raises $16.5M Series A
Flare Capital Partners led the round. Craft Ventures and Obvious Ventures, both seed backers, returned, and Eniac Ventures, InHealth Ventures, Epsilon Health Investors and ARTIS joined. Total funding is now $30 million, after a $13 million seed in 2023. Valuation was not disclosed. The Boston company spun out of 1upHealth and has more than 20 employees. Proceeds go to engineering and go-to-market hiring, new workflows for provider groups and health plans, and model improvements. The agents work inside a customer's EHR, payer portals, fax and phone. They handle intake, eligibility, prior authorization, billing and denials. The company says its Large Medical Model was trained on coded claims and clinical histories for more than 140 million patients, and a US-based billing team handles exceptions. The CEO says customers get paid 30% or more than before. One customer, Piedmont Medical Solutions, said the agents did more work than an outsourced team five times their size. These are company and customer claims, not independently verified. For AI founders, the pitch is that the work gets done, not that software is sold. Flare's partner framed it as agents alongside humans, not "agentified SaaS". Competition is heavy: Forus reportedly raised $150 million at a $3 billion valuation for similar healthcare agents. A small team with a human fallback and direct system integrations is the model investors are funding at Series A.
