Onebrief raises $200M Series D
The $200M figure is an aggregate of primary and secondary shares, so not all of it went to the company's balance sheet. Onebrief said the round included both a primary and a secondary offering. Returning investor Battery Ventures and new investor Sapphire Ventures co-led it. Salesforce Ventures joined as a new backer, and General Catalyst and Insight Partners, existing investors, also took part. The post-money valuation was over $2B, with other outlets reporting $2.15B. The company used the financing alongside the purchase of Battle Road Digital. The acquisition adds wargaming, simulation and real-time decision-support tools to the platform. Onebrief plans to fold these into its AI Assist product. That follows a quick climb in valuation: $335M in August 2024, $650M in January 2025 and $1.1B in June 2025. For founders, the round shows how fast defense buyers and investors are rewarding AI software that sits inside daily operational workflows. One reported detail is that its AI Co-planner is built on Anthropic's Claude. That suggests a vertical product on a third-party model can still command a premium valuation. It also shows an acquisition can be a way to add a capability the company would otherwise build slowly.
