Yardstik raises $30M Series B
Harbert Growth Partners led the round. Existing backers Rally Ventures, MissionOG, Crosslink Capital, Grotech Ventures and Great North Ventures also took part. Total capital raised now stands at $65M. Valuation was not disclosed. The Minneapolis company reports 149% year-over-year revenue growth, 98% account retention and eight-figure annual revenue. It has roughly 65 employees and is approaching profitability. Customers include Gopuff, TaskRabbit and Liveops. The money goes toward fraud prevention, credential management and continuous monitoring, which tracks changes such as driving records, expired licenses, insurance lapses and exclusion listings after a worker is hired. Founded in 2020, Yardstik began as a background screening provider and sells through APIs that marketplaces, hiring platforms and HR software vendors embed in their own products. The timing follows a rise in AI-generated resumes and fake candidate profiles. Gartner has estimated that one in four candidate profiles could be fake by 2028. For AI founders, the opening is on both sides: identity and fraud detection for hiring is becoming a budgeted category rather than a procurement line item, and any company that onboards contractors or gig workers at scale will face demand for embedded, ongoing verification instead of a single check at signup.
