PaleBlueDot AI raises $150M Series B at $1B
Stephen Watts was appointed CEO the week before the round was announced, and the company says the money goes toward platform engineering for its multi-tenant cloud architecture and its AI Cloud Agent. Much of the capital is also earmarked for Nvidia GPUs, the infrastructure to run them, and hiring for partnerships and enterprise deployments. Earlier funding was a $10 million Series A from family offices. The business has two sides. A marketplace links mostly U.S. early-stage AI startups with spare third-party GPU capacity, while a second unit builds dedicated clusters for enterprises, often in Digital Realty and Equinix colocation sites. The company has since moved quickly. Its October 2026 Series C is reported at $200 million and a $3.2 billion valuation. It had signed over $5 billion in customer contracts as of September 2026. Sources differ on who led that later round. PaleBlueDot sits in a crowded neocloud field of startups pitching themselves as AI-focused alternatives to AWS and Azure. For founders, that means more places to buy GPU capacity, including pooled marketplace supply that avoids a single-cloud commitment. It also means price and availability now vary by provider. Investors are still paying up for compute resellers, so teams negotiating capacity should weigh counterparty depth, since these vendors lean on third-party supply.
