Avoca raises $125M Series B at $1B for AI customer support agents
The company announced the funding on April 27. The $125 million covers three rounds, including a Series B led by Meritech and General Catalyst and a Series A led by Kleiner Perkins. Y Combinator led the seed in 2024. The company serves more than 800 customers in HVAC, plumbing, roofing and electrical work. Its agents take inbound calls, schedule jobs, follow up on estimates and run dispatch. It integrates with CRM systems and has partnered with ServiceTitan, Nexstar and Clover. Avoca plans to expand into moving, junk removal, automotive services and property management. Its pitch rests on job size. A missed restaurant call costs $30 to $40 in lost orders, while a missed home services call can mean a $30,000 to $40,000 job. Founders Tyson Chen and Apurva Shrivastava built a first product for an HVAC customer in 2023, and that customer helped them find early clients. For founders, this is a data point for vertical agents sold into industries that software has largely skipped. The valuation reflects measurable revenue tied to booked jobs, not general model capability. The $1B figure is also a cumulative-capital number, so it should not be read as a $125M Series B price.
