Aitan raises $41M Series A
The round was co-led by Deep33 and Dell Technologies Capital. Angels and funds also took part, including Gokul Rajaram, Ben Ling of Bling Capital and Kevin Weil of Scribble Ventures. Total capital raised now stands at $54M. Valuation was not disclosed. Aitan is the new name for eyesAtop, whose technology Udi Oster and Daniel Almog took control of in September 2025 after investing $1M in March 2024. The company sells an operating layer that coordinates mixed fleets of military drones, with AI running on the aircraft instead of in the cloud. It says its systems have been used by Israeli forces since October 2023 and have logged more than 500,000 operational hours. The money is meant to carry that product to allied governments. In July, eyesAtop and Kela were picked to build a command platform for the IDF's next-generation attack drone program. For AI founders, the deal shows investors paying for software that sits above the hardware in defense, where combat-use data counts as a moat. The open question is whether Israeli deployments turn into NATO or Gulf contracts, which involve long evaluation cycles and procurement politics. Founders selling to governments should plan for that timeline.
