Adaptive Real Estate raises $30M Series B
Tidemark led the round, with existing backers Emergence Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Pathlight, Definition and 3KVC all returning. Total funding now stands at $57M. Valuation was not disclosed in the coverage reviewed. The company, which builds accounting software for contractors, says more than 750 firms with revenue from $5M to $1B use it. It also works with over 40 accounting firms and connects to systems such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Foundation and Acumatica. The product pulls data from project schedules, daily logs and field updates, then runs agents that code invoices, draft change orders, prepare billings, assemble work-in-progress reports and chase lien waivers. Agents do not post to the general ledger on their own, and a person reviews every action. Proceeds go toward expanding the agents across job costing, payables, billing, payments and compliance, plus hiring in Boston and New York. For AI founders, the pitch is a vertical agent that gathers missing context from the field before doing the back-office work, instead of only automating entries. The human-approval gate and integrations with incumbent ledgers show how agent products in regulated finance workflows are being sold: they sit on top of existing systems, and a person stays responsible for final outputs.
