Gatik raises $200M Series D for driverless middle-mile trucks
Millennium Management, ARK Invest and Intact Private Capital also joined the round. It is the largest financing in the company's history. No valuation was disclosed. Gatik reports more than $600m in contracted revenue and 85,000 fully driverless orders, at 99% on-time delivery. The revenue figure is backlog, not recognized GAAP revenue. The money is meant to move the fleet from dozens of trucks today to thousands in the years ahead. One trade report puts the near-term target at more than 100 driverless trucks. Gatik's routes run between distribution centers and stores. They cover Texas, Arkansas, Arizona and Canada, for retailers such as Walmart and Loblaws. Koch led Gatik's $85 million Series B in 2021 and returned for this round. For AI founders, the round shows where large checks are going: narrow, repeatable routes with signed customers, not general-purpose autonomy. Sovereign and industrial investors are paying for contracted demand and operating data. A startup selling physical AI into logistics will be judged on driverless volume, on-time rates and backlog quality, not on demos.
