Comp AI raises $34M Series A
Roo Capital and Grand Ventures led the round. Valuation has not been reported. TechCrunch puts total funding at $37.5 million, while SecurityWeek says the total is over $36 million. The Miami-based company, founded in January 2025, reports more than 1,000 customers and 15x year-over-year ARR growth. Both figures are the company's own claims. Headcount has grown 10x over the year, and hiring will span product, engineering, operations, sales, customer success and marketing in Miami and New York. The money is meant to move the company beyond compliance automation. It already sells AI-powered penetration testing that probes codebases and infrastructure for vulnerabilities. It is also moving upmarket toward larger organizations with more complex security needs. One analyst flagged crowding: well-funded entrants are approaching agentic security and compliance from both compliance and pure security tooling. For founders, the round shows that a narrow, paperwork-heavy workflow can be a base for a larger security product if customer growth is real. The open question is retention. Shifting from periodic audits to continuous monitoring is the diligence item to watch. Buyers will likely judge the expansion on audit results, not funding totals.
