Aura raises $100M in a venture round
The $100M was an equity placement sold to existing shareholders, not a new-investor round. Participants were founder and CEO Hari Ravichandran, WndrCo, Accel and General Catalyst. Commitments rose from an earlier $75M figure, and the cash arrived when Aura closed its acquisition of Australian student-safety firm Qoria on July 17, 2026. An upsized $100M debt facility closed at the same time. Valuation was not disclosed in the sources found, and the closing date is later than the February 2 date in Crunchbase's record. Context: Aura listed on the ASX in July under the ticker AXQ. Pro forma annual recurring revenue reached about $339.7M in the second quarter, up 27% year over year. Management is running a $55M cost-reduction program and targets positive free cash flow in 2026. Qoria adds roughly 32,000 school customers. For AI founders, this is a late-stage consumer security company funding itself through insiders and debt around a public-market acquisition, not a fresh priced round. The money is for integration and cross-selling, and the company is pairing it with cost cuts. Investors in this segment are rewarding revenue scale and a visible path to profitability over new-product bets.
